The Hollow Hill
Well, it has been years and years now that the pile of mud has been sitting there “mushing out” surrounded by the “rental” fence that costs $ xxx.xx per month and we keep paying ….. The whole project must have cost over 3.8 million by now and it never ends ….. This is a mismanaged “good idea” gone bad …. WHO CARES???It seems that the town is going to keep on spending even during these times that are so difficult for those that have lost their jobs, accepted a wage reduction to keep their jobs or are unfortunate enough to be trapped by recession in this “uncaring and decaying town” during their “golden years” …
It is time to minimize the damage and put an end to this waste and stupidity and see if this town has a conscience…

An economic solution ??
Don’t laugh yet …. This idea came from a late night talk show and a comedian that makes millions of dollars and owns over 100 cars ….. (so who is to critsize at least until you have read it)….
So here are thoughts based on our economic woes, loss of jobs, downturn in the dollar and the lack of any good ideas from government , business or media “know it alls” preaching only doom and gloom ….
The governments are considering injecting billions of dollars into the car manufacturers pockets that may, or may not, end up benefiting the struggling people of Canada or they may end up with the unavoidable bankruptcy of the car maker …. If this is the case (and it sounds possible) then after the corporate bonuses are handed out who benefits from the leftovers or are there any leftovers ?
Let us stop speculating and present THE PLAN.
Here is the plan. The governments of Canada and the provinces prepare a voucher worth $10,000.00 and make it available to each and every Canadian old enough to drive. This voucher is only good for one thing and that is to be applied to the purchase of a brand new Canadian made car or truck that includes some of the new technology for preserving the environment and an agreement to pay the balance and keep for at least three years…..
So the thought is that instead of lining more privileged pockets Canada’s “Bailout” would be a multi-tiered stimulus to the “Canadian people” …
Who benefits from this? …. The recipient who now has a brand new “greener” car with ten thousand already paid off, the car dealer who finally made some sales, the assembler who is now needed to make some more “windfall” cars, the parts manufacturer who no longer requires ”lay offs”, etc. and etc. Now the trickle down effect is staggering and even the government is happy as they are now collecting “income tax” from all the workers that are now back to being game-fully employed and the GST and PST on the total price of the car by all the guys like me that would take immediate advantage of this offer. Also they have eliminated the very large looming reality of more unemployement and further recession.
All of this and they only spent the money they were going to “give away” in the first place……
We have dug ourselves out of worse ones than this – “WE CAN DO IT” - We are Canadian…. and if you think this is not a good idea with merits please just move down to (comments) click there and tell us yours …. Let’s quit talking and start doing !
